Glassdoor has revealed that the highest paid entry level job is that of Data Scientist. Software Engineer is in second place and UX Designer, Java Developer and Software Developer are also in the top 10.

Glassdoor is a job search site on which current and former employees anonymously review companies and their management. Salary information comes from job postings and from its users.,

Here's the full list of 25 Highest Paying Entry Level Jobs in the United States according to Glassdoor with ones that we find relevant in bold:

Introducing these findings, which are based on salaries reported by US-based employees aged 25 or younger over the time period 1/01/18 to 12/31/18, as pertaining to "Entry Level" jobs Glassdoor comments: 

Conventional wisdom dictates that you start out at the bottom of the ladder with a lower salary, and, over the years, work your way up into higher positions with higher salaries. And while this is often the case, it doesn’t always have to be. There are particular roles and fields that pay very generously right from the get-go, with salaries only increasing over time.

First jobs they might be, but in the case of Data Scientist employers are looking for applicants with a post graduate degree, either a  Masters or a doctorate.  

Machine Learning Engineer, which was reported as Best Job of 2019 by rival jobs listing site, indeed.com. is a role noticeable by its absence in Glassdoor's list. However, if you enter it as a search term, guess what's returned - Data Scientist and Python Developer Jobs, with the former having higher salaries.

While Front End Developer only comes in twelfth place in the Glassdoor, Full Stack Developer was third Best Job according to indeed.com - but this is a job that requires experience and the salary of over $114 is concomitant with some seniority. 

There's more to a job than good pay - but it certainly helps. And just as with the role of programmer, being a data scientist (or a machine learning engineer, for that matter) means that you can explore in many different domains. You name the field, its bound to want your services.
