Postman has launched AI Agent Builder, a tool for the Postman system that uses AI to give developers a way to create intelligent, AI-driven API agents by combining LLMs, APIs, and workflows. Postman is an API development and testing platform that can be used to create and share API requests and collections, automate testing, and monitor performance. It offers centralized access to APIs from more than 18,000 companies, no-code modular development using Postman Flows, and built-in testing. The new Postman AI Agent Builder is a tool within the Postman ecosystem that uses artificial intelligence to help developers interact with APIs. The tool can be used to create intelligent API workflow agents, write API documentation, automate API interaction and testing, and simplify complex API integration situations. Postman AI Agent Builder is powered by AI requests. Developers create AI requests to interact with AI models, and can then prompt the model, review the response details, and manage their conversations with the models. The tool also lets developers edit their AI request settings to change how they interact with the model. The agent builder provides a centralized platform for LLM & API discovery that can be used to find the necessary LLMs and APIs through the Postman API Network, which they say is the world's largest API hub, home to over 18,000 companies. The builder also supports LLM testing and evaluation. Developers can test LLM responses by using the Postman client, Collection Runner, or Postman Flows to test prompts and inputs for leading models including OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google's Gemini, Anthropic's Claude, Cohere, and Meta's Llama. The developers say the new tool also supports the creation of accurate agents through its ability to use APIs from any of Postman's verified publishers including Salesforce, PayPal, and UPS. The tool can turn APIs into agent-ready tools for integration within developers' preferred environment, and the company says it removes the need to re-write boilerplate code for each tool. A no-code tool, Postman Flows, provides a visual canvas that eliminates the need for coding when integrating APIs as agent tools. It also supports simplified testing. Postman AI Agent Builder is available now on the Postman platform.
