Silverlight Integration Pack for Microsoft Enterprise Library 5.0

Silverlight developers working on line of business (LOB) implementations for enterprise solutions can now take advantage of the software reuse potential of Microsoft Enterprise Library 5.0. 

Microsoft has released the Silverlight Integration Pack for Microsoft Enterprise Library 5.0, a collection of guidance and reusable application blocks designed to assist Silverlight application developers with common LOB development challenges. The blocks are designed to encapsulate recommended practices which facilitate consistency, ease of use, integration, and extensibility. They will also help developers who want to port their existing LOB applications using Enterprise Library, to Silverlight.

This release which is now in the Microsoft Download Center includes:

  • Caching Application Block
  • Exception Handling Application Block
  • Logging Application Block
  • Policy Injection Application Block
  • Validation Application Block
  • Unity Application Block

A Reference Implementation, Stock Trader V2 is available via a separate download. Currently this is an alpha release but the final version will be available shortly.

The Enterprise Library works in conjunction with the dependency container Unity which is included in the integration pack. Unity 2.0 can also be downloaded here.
