dbForge Studio for MySQL has been updated to add support for the latest versions of MySQL and MariaDB, along with the ability to navigate between keywords.

Devart's dbForge Studio for MySQL is an IDE for MySQL management, administration, development, data reporting and analysis. It can be used to carry out database changes, version control database changes in source control systems, and speed up routine tasks.

The support for MySQL 8 has been added in response to the recent update of MySQL Server by Oracle.

Alongside the updated support for MySQL, the new version can now be used to connect to and work with the latest MariaDB v10.3. New in this release is the ability to connect to MySQL databases held in the Tencent Cloud service. Tencent Cloud is a relational database cloud service.

The only change of note in the day-to-day working is the addition of a quick way to move between keywords in the SQL Editor. This can now be done either from the shortcut menu via a new Jump between Syntax Pairs option, or using the key combination ‘Ctrl+F12’.

dbForge for MySQL comes in a free Express edition that can be used to work with schema objects, user accounts, SQL scripts, maintenance wizard, and queries. A paid-for Standard edition adds a stored routine debugger, query builder, code snippets, and object search. The next version, Professional edition, supports database projects; schema comparison; data comparison; debugging stored procedures, functions, triggers, and scripts; creation of complex queries; and intelligent SQL coding. Most expensive and comprehensive is the Enterprise edition at $399 per annum, which adds a data generator and documenter.
