Developers writing apps for Android-based devices can now find out more about exactly who’s downloading their apps. If you have an app for sale in the Android market you'll want to answers to the questions who, where and how is using it.Google's new analytics tool gives you these answers and lets you compare your stats to the total marketplace.
(click image to view) The Android app publishing interface, which gives programmers the means to upload and maintain applications, now has a new statistics link that can be used to find out details such as: where in the world people are downloading your app, what version of Android they’re using and which device they’re running it on:

Information that will prove invaluable to developers in marketing their apps is displayed in a set of charts which, as you see in the above charts provided by HT Applications not only give statistics for a specific app but also for all apps in the market.
Update:According to the Android Developers Blog (http://android-developers.blogspot.com/2011/03/application-stats-on-android-market.html), the charts give you installation trends over time. The comparison data that your apps will be compared against go back to December 22, 2010, and from now on the data will be updated daily. The blog also says more announcements will be made soon.
