The demoscene computer festival Assembly Summer 2012 took place August 2nd-5th in Helsinki, Finland and the winning entries are now available to view.

While not the biggest demoparty, Assemblym which has been held every year since 1992, can probably stake a claim to be the longest-running. It also maintains the tradition of running a compo (competition) for "Oldskool" computers - the Commodore 64 or older including the Atari ST, Sinclair Spectrum and Amstrad CPC6128.

The non-stop BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) event from Assembly Organizing, which also includes seminars, concerts and gaming was held in the largest sports arena in Finland to accommodate over 5000 visitors and 3500 computers.

The total value of prizes for Assembly Summer 2012 was  over 50,000 Euros with the largest prize of 4,000 Euros being for the top Realtime Demo.
