MCTS for .NET 2.0The three areas of expertise and their corresponding exams for Visual Studio 2005, relating to .NET Framework 2.0 are: Exam 70-526 Windows-Based Client Development Exam 70-528 Web-Based Client Development Exam 70-529 Distributed Application Development (Follow the links to find out the skills being measured and click on the Preparation Materials tab for the tools and resources available for each.) Gaining a MCTS involves passing two exams and whichever of the Windows, Web or Distributed Applications you choose, you also face the same core exam: Exam 70-536 Microsoft .NET Framework - Application Development Foundation MCTS for .NET 3.5Visual Studio 2008 introduced several new technologies - Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Workflow Foundation (WF), Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and the certification program expanded to cover them. So if you are working with .NET Framework 3.5 the same core MCTS exam as for .NET 2.0 (Exam 70-536) still applies but now you have six choices of specialist topics.
