Flight is the name of the Twitter Developer Conference and we are not referring to apps but to requests for tickets to this this year's event which takes place on October 21st in San Francisco.
Twitter held its inaugural mobile developer conference last year and is returning to the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium for an event with a similar plan, including a Happy Hour, which this time is extended until 8:00 pm. With the morning taken up with a two-hour Keynote, in the afternoon delegates can choose between four tracks - mixing them in order to match their interests. Talks in the Main Hall include ones of Fabric and Periscope and there's one that might well be over-subscribed with the title "Growing and Monetizing Your App Using Twitter" and currently several of the slots are billed as "Secret Session" which sound much more enticing than the usual "To Be Announced". The mobile track has more on Fabric, plus sessions on Android and iOS and if you are interested in Data there are talks on Gnip, PowerTrack and Finatra plus "Identifying Trends in Twitter Data", "Uses and Products Built with Twitter Data" and "Probabilistic Data Aggregation". Sessions in the Lightning Theatre are only 15 mins long, compared to half an hour for the other tracks and there are no gaps between them.. So if you want to cover a lot of topics you can just take your seat at listen to 14 talks back-to-back. Like last year, when the first Flight conference was held, this is an invitation-only event. The application form asks not only for your Twitter handle but also for a link to your GitHub account and has a space that can be used for an app link. The information you provide will be used to evaluate you application and this seems a reasonable approach to ensure that the event is attended by its target audience. If you are invited, the fee of $140 provides access to all sessions. So
