Are you a Kindle user, a tablet fan or are you hooked on your smartphone? The answer might reveal more than you think about your habits.

A survey by Nielsen of 12,000 connected device users in the U.S. showed that tablet and smartphone owners are bored enough while watching television to use their devices at the same time. Seventy percent of tablet owners and 68 percent of smartphone owners used them while watching TV, compared to just 35 percent of eReader owners. Tablet owners said 30 percent of the entire time they use their device was while watching TV.

The eReader owners are keener on using their device in bed - 61 percent compared to 57 percent of tablet owners and 51 percent of smartphone owners. eReader owners spend a whopping 37 percent of their device usage time in bed.

The researchers didn’t specify whether they think this means tablet owners get bored more easily and eReader owners prefer curling up with a good ebook. We leave you to draw your own conclusions. The figure you probably don’t want to know is that 4 percent of tablet users say they’re using their device in the bathroom, compared to just 3 percent of eReader and smartphone users.
