Using Google Store Locator

With the recently introduced Store Locator utility library, developers working with the Google Maps API can now add store locators to their apps.

Developers working with the Google Maps API can now add store locators to their apps. The recently introduced Store Locator utility library is an open-source library that you can use to create interactive store locators. The library lets you choose a data source containing the details of the stores you want to show, then uses HTML5 geolocation to work out a reasonable starting viewport for the user. There’s an info window option that lets you show details about the store, and you can switch to street view to provide another choice.

The library has a side panel option that you can use to provide autocomplete search, show directions and a list of nearby stores, and a list of features the user is looking for so they can filter the list of stores shown.
