OpenAI has announced a store where users can find custom versions of ChatGPT. Alongside the new store, OpenAI also announced a new team version of ChatGPT. The announcements of the store said that in the two months since OpenAI announced GPTs, users have already created over 3 million custom versions of ChatGPT. The new store will be available to ChatGPT users who pay for the service, meaning Plus, Team and Enterprise users. The store was originally supposed to be launched last year, but was delayed as OpenAI reorganized its executive lineup. At the moment, developers won't be paid directly for people using their custom versions, but OpenAI says they'll launch a "GPT builder revenue program" in Q1 this year. As a first step, US builders will be paid based on user engagement with their GPTs. More details on the criteria for payments will be provided as the revenue program gets closer. For the moment, users of the store can browse popular and trending GPTs on the community leaderboard, with categories like DALL·E, writing, research, programming, education, and lifestyle. The store also has a weekly highlights area that reports on useful GPTs. Some of the first featured GPTs include personalized trail recommendations from AllTrails; searching and synthesizing of results from 200M academic papers with Consensus; and coding skills classes with Khan Academy's Code Tutor. Alongside the store, OpenAI announced a new ChatGPT Team plan. This offers access to OpenAI's advanced models like GPT-4 and DALL·E 3, and tools like Advanced Data Analysis. It additionally includes a dedicated collaborative workspace for your team and admin tools for team management. The plan also provides team customers with access to a private section of the GPT Store which includes GPTs securely published to your workspace. The GPT Store will be available soon for ChatGPT Enterprise customers and will include enhanced admin controls like choosing how internal-only GPTs are shared and which external GPTs may be used inside your business.
