Lots of community news plus advice on setting your hourly rate and several mentions of Joomla extensions are part of the mix for this month's issue.

The headline Make More Money By Properly Setting Your Hourly Rate is likely to attract a lot of clicks for Gabe Wahhab's very practical advice on this topic. Gabe is editor of the Business Matters section which has two other helpful posts this month. Luke Summerfield explains Why Your Clients Need a Mobile Joomla Site and How to Sell it To Them  and Gabe provides Releasing A Commercial Extension? Top 5 Things Every Developer Must Know.

While on the topic of extensions, Alice Grevet reports that in January the Joomla Extension Directory surpassed 9000 extensions. An overview of a recent addition, TP2, that will help developers manage modules is  also in this issue.

For regular readers of the magazine, the most significant news this month is that its lead editor for its first 21 issues has a new role. As explained in an interview with him, Paul Orwig has become President of Open Source Matters, taking over from  Ryan Ozimek who is staying on the OSM board. In taking on his new responsibilities he's stepping aside from Joomla Community Magazine and he also relinquished his role with the CLT at the end of last year.

In this final editorial Paul suggests using a lighthouse, which shines a strong bright light in all directions. as a new metaphor for the JCM and its team.
