The European SharePoint Connections conference will take place less than a week after the launch of SharePoint 2013.

Sessions highlighting the changes to the newly released SharePoint 2013 will be a major theme at this year’s European SharePoint Connections. The conference will take place in Amsterdam on 20-21 November 2012, and will consist of around 40 sessions covering SharePoint. The Agenda and Sessions abstracts are available on the SharePoint Connections site.

The opening keynote will look at using SharePoint for the Cloud, and will be given by Steve Fox, Director Microsoft Services Group, and Mike Fitzmaurice, Vice President of Product Technology for Nintex. Fox will cover how SharePoint 2013 has been improved for the cloud, and Fitzmaurice will show a new cloud-friendly model for extending the product with add-on features.

The second keynote, by Dan Holme, covers what SharePoint 2013 and Office 365 will mean in the real world. Holme is one of the top ten partner MVP’s in the world, and was the Microsoft Technologies Consultant for NBC Olympics during the broadcast of the 2012 Olympics in London.

There’s a track aimed specifically at developers, with sessions including agile development with SharePoint; integrating JQuery/HTML5 with SharePoint 2013; Windows Azure for SharePoint; Client Side Object Model and REST; using managed metadata in custom solutions; and developing mobile friendly SharePoint sites.

New this year will be a closing session called ‘Ask the Speaker’ when all the speakers will be available to answer questions from delegates. The original SharePint social evening is taking place with free drinks and food.
