A 4-day virtual conference in which we are all invited to "Learn from the master of our craft" starts on Monday December 1st at 9:00 PST (17:00 UTC). There have already been over 44,000 registrations so this event is set to make history by being the largest ever developer conference.

Hack.summit() has been organized by hack.hands() and is an opportunity to hear from, and ask questions of,  an impressive line up of luminaries. As the event uses virtual conferencing technology, provided by Crowdcast.io using Google Hangouts, it doesn't require you to travel.

Instead it is available anywhere and everywhere. What is more you choose what to pay for your ticket (available here) and your donation goes to supporting the programming non-profit of your choice. If you are unable to donate you can also receive a free ticket by spreading the word via Twitter and Facebook. 

Since our original report and the line up of speakers has increased. There are now 37 speakers, seven of them women. The agenda has been posted and you can add the talks you want to attend to whatever calendar you rely on in order to be reminded at the appropriate time. There are eight one-hour sessions on each of the four days and this is the line-up for Monday, December 1:

The summit opens on December 1 with hack.hands() CEO and hack.summit() founder Ed Roman. During his session he is going to reveal the hack.pledge() tagged as "A movement to unite programmers worldwide." 

Having demonstrated the ability to involve so many programming language creators, open source contributors and "thought leaders", this is likely to be something worth knowing about.
