Embarcadero has released the latest version of RAD Studio with support for Windows 10.
RAD Studio can be used to create C++ and Delphi applications for Windows 10, OS X and mobile apps. The new version has an improved IDE, better runtime performance, and more than 20 new “coding productivity innovations”. The improvements to the new version include Windows 10 VCL Controls, Styles, and Universal Windows Platform services components. The new release is titled RAD Studio 10 Seattle, and the new version has Windows 10 and native UWP/RT components and APIs, Windows 10 VCL User Experience controls, and updated Windows 10 FMX support. New VCL Controls include ActivityIndicator, RelativePanel, SearchBox, SplitView, SelectDirectory and ToggleSwitch. The VCL custom controls correspond to the new Windows 10 UI controls, and can also be used on previous versions of Windows. You also get Windows 10 specific VCL styles so the apps you create match Microsoft’s Modern look and feel; and there are improvements to VCL Styling, including support for styling common dialogs and the TWebBrowser component. The object inspector has also been improved so you can set component properties and events, and support has been added for High-DPI Awareness and 4K, and the IDE project capacity has also been doubled so the environment is more stable and faster when managing large multi-platform projects. The C++ Builder element of RAD Studio is the first CLANG enhanced C++ compiler for Windows and mobile. It is tightly integrated with VCL for Windows and its FMX (FireMonkey) cross-platform framework, has full C++11 language support; and ARC (Automatic Reference Counting) based memory management for C++ on mobile. Other improvements have been made to development and testing processes and to the documentation.
A free 30-day trial version which includes Delphi 10 & C++ 10 Builder available for download. More InformationRelated Articles
