According to Dianne Henning, this month's editor:

The very definition of Joomla! invokes a sense of community; and what a diverse and talented community we are! We span the globe, our skill sets range from development to design, from coding to communication. We are multilingual, multinational and multicultural. And, we are volunteers.

This introduces this month's lead article, “How you can help change the world!” about how The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD). The UNCSD Communications and Outreach Cluster has chosen Joomla! as the content management system for its website and is now looking for volunteers to help in the site's planning and development.

If you are eagerly awaiting publication of The Official Joomla Book, due out in December, you'll find an excerpt from it and a detailed chapter outline.

A new feature has been introduced this month. The Joomla! Haiku challenge asks for your short poems  for display on its site - so put on your creative thinking caps.
