The sessions from this year's SpringOne conference covering everything and anything concerned with the Spring framework are accessible online for free.

Not long after Spring I/O 2024, SpringOne took place causing a Spring framework overload of information! We covered the talks from the former event, which took place in Barcelona between 30 and 31 May, in Spring I/O 2024 Sessions Now Available Online. The latter event took place virtually between August 26 and 28 and now all its talks have become available for your viewing pleasure as Youtube playlist, accessible through the SpringDeveloper Youtube channel.

Some of those 25 sessions were:

  • Spring Spotlight: Sustainable Evolution with Spring
  • Frustration-Free K8S for Spring Developers
  • Delving Into Spring Boot Netflix: Netflix's Application Framework
  • Passkeys: Goodbye Passwords, Hello Security! (SpringOne)
  • Spring Cloud Stream - State Of The Union
  • Spring MVC As AWS Lambda
  • Does Your API Need A REST? Check Out GraphQL
  • A Spring Developers Guide To Navigating The Frontend Landscape
  • Bootiful Artificial Intelligence
  • What Is Spring?
  • Bootiful Spring Boot
  • Building And Monetizing Generative AI Plugins With Spring AI
  • Learnings From Netflix To Effective Testing With Spring Boot
  • Build GraphQL Services With Spring Boot Like Netflix
  • Efficient Containers with Spring Boot 3, Java 21 and CDS

From that list you can derive that the topics the event was about:

  • Core Frameworks: Spring Framework, Spring Security, Spring for GraphQL, Spring Boot

  • Artificial Intelligence: Integrating AI with Spring

  • Operations and Production: Streamlining processes and building for production

  • Architecting for Scale: Building scalable code bases, services, and systems

With that many talks to go through, we have picked a few noteworthy ones to get started with:

So if you've ever been frustrated with deploying Spring apps to Kubernetes, then the session "Frustration-Free K8S for Spring Developers" is a must watch. It will guide you step by step and keep you on the sane side...

Then learn how to perform testing by watching the giants at work in "Learnings from Netflix to Effective Testing with Spring Boot". This session will expose Netflix's engineering team techniques which include SpringBootTest, test slices, and Test containers.

Of course "Bootiful Spring Boot 3.x" by Josh Long. It will bring you up to date with the latest developments of Spring Boot's recent version 3+. Essential watching for those who haven't upgraded from 2x yet.

Talking about AI is "Bootiful Artificial Intelligence" which explores integrating AI with Spring. Talk revolves around embeddings, RAG and such.

And finally focused at enterprise level infrastructures, in "Efficient Containers with Spring Boot 3, Java 21 and CDS" you'll learn how to migrate Spring Boot 2 applications running on Java 8 to Spring Boot 3 running on Java 21. You'll also find out about how to leverage the build in support for things like Virtual Threads, Spring Ahead-Of-Time optimizations, CDS and Buildpacks in order to run your apps faster and more efficient on the JVM.

That's just a few of the lot.Check all of them out by paying a visit to the conference's Youtube playlist.
