JetBrains has updated Datalore, its collaborative data science platform for teams, which is available both on-premises and in the private cloud. Datalore Enterprise 2023 has improvements to the reporting platform and support for Google BigQuery. Datalore comes in three versions - Community, Professional and Enterprise. It is available in a managed cloud for personal use on the Community and Professional plans, or as a privately hosted service for companies on the Enterprise plan Community and Professional have an online data science Jupyter notebook with smart coding assistance, and smart coding assistance for Python, Kotlin, SQL, R and Scala in Jupyter. Datalore Enterprise includes custom configurations for single sign on, environment configuration and computational resources. Datalore Enterprise 2022.3 is now free for teams up to four people, and for the first four users in larger teams. The new release has better reporting workflows, and report creation improvements including the ability to highlight specific numbers with metric cells, work with date inputs via Date cells, and filter and sort DataFrames from the UI.
Support has also been added for Google BigQuery, so users can create a Google BigQuery connection through Datalore’s interface, choose the schemas to work with, and browse the schemas tree and query data inside a native SQL cell. Other improvements include the ability to apply filtering and sorting to Pandas DataFrames and SQL query results directly in the cell output, and have Datalore generate the boilerplate Python code to reproduce the same table representation later on in the notebook. Support for using data in Amazon S3 and Google Cloud Storage has been improved, with the ability to attach AWS S3 and GCS buckets from the same interface as SQL databases. Users can also connect to remote databases using SSH tunneling. The other main change improves Docker support with the ability to connect multiple machines to Docker-based installation using Docker Swarm. Datalore Enterprise 2022.3 is available now.
