The Chinese Internet giant has launched its Cloud Develop Center, an English language site that promises to provides tools and invites devs to join its platform.

Baidu.com is the top website in China and 5th in the world. According to Webempires, 12 in every hundred internet users visit it daily, giving it 210,870,979 visitors daily. It is the Chinese equivalent of Google and Wikipeida. It has a search engine, a collaboratively built encyclopedia and has an extensive collection of Android games.

When you bear in mind that China is considered to be the world's biggest Android market, the prospect of tapping into its app ecosystem has to be an enticing prospect.

Baidu Cloud Developer Center appear to be work in progress. It prominently displays "Join Baidu Developer Platform" and says that it:

offers a complete set of software development tools and technical services to developers in the cloud era, resolving problems they routinely encounter in the development process. We invite all developers and partners to this open platform to build a healthy ecosystem where everyone wins.

It goes on to provide icons and links for the tools and services - but this just goes to a description of each of them.

Even so it's probably worth bookmarking the page as it seems that something potentially big could be about to happen.
