A new service that offers Google Cloud customers real-time streaming data integration and analytics has been launched by Striim. Striim Cloud on Google Cloud is claimed to be the fastest way for customers to deliver real-time data and insights to power business intelligence and decision-making. Striim Cloud is a only fully-managed software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for real-time streaming data integration and analytics that is designed to be zero-maintenance and "infinitely scalable". Striim collects data in real time from enterprise databases (using non-intrusive change data capture), log files, messaging systems, and sensors, and delivers it to targets on-premises or in the cloud with sub-second latency. Launching the new service, Philllip Cockrell, senior vice president of business development, Striim Inc, said that customers need real-time systems to ingest, process, query, and analyze data to deliver insights and enable decisions in real-time. He says Striim Cloud on Google Cloud delivers these capabilities for the enterprise. “Real-time decision making is quickly becoming ‘table stakes’ for any business that expects to compete effectively across a multitude of industries. Striim Cloud is a powerful, cloud-based, SaaS platform that gives enterprise customers an invaluable advantage in reaching this goal.“
Striim Cloud on Google Cloud uses change data capture (CDC) to detect source database changes, removing the impact on other operations and maintaining the most up-to-date data possible. Customers can continuously query, enrich and run analysis on a live data stream in-transit rather than query the data after it has reached the target database or data warehouse. Customers get a unified view of all data pipelines, and can add new pipelines or modify existing pipelines, while Striim handles the background support for the pipeline, and supports cloud-native services and integrations. Striim connects over 100 sources and targets across private, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments, and is available now on Google Cloud.
