Nokia has released an updated SDK 1.1 and new desktop and Symbian libraries for its Qt Framework.

Despite devoting a large proportion of its efforts to Windows Phone 7, Nokia has released a new version of its Qt Framwork - Qt SDK 1.1 for both desktop and mobile development is now available.

It provides the Qt Creator IDE as a starting point for development and you can speed up your development, especially for touch-screens with the UI builder Qt Quick, introduced in QT 4.7.

Qt SDK 1.1 includes the new Qt 4.7.3 libraries for the desktop and for Maemo/N900 the previous Qt 4.7.0 library is supplied. Other components are:

  • Qt Creator 2.1,
  • Qt Mobility 1.1.3
  • Qt simulator
  • Remote compiler supporting Linux and Mac for Nokia supported platforms
  • Symbian toolchain
  • Madde toolchain for N900

During installation of the Qt SDK, you select which of the above packages you need. In addition you will receive notification when new features and updates are available so that there is no need to make special upgrades or extra downloads.

You can download SDK 1.1 from the Qt Download Page.
