A new version of Eyeshot, a native CAD control for the .NET Framework, has been released. devDept's Eyeshot lets you add CAD features to WinForms and WPF applications simply by dragging an item from the Visual Studio toolbox onto your form or window.

The new version, Eyeshot 11.0, adds advanced collision detection using OBB (Oriented Bounding Boxes), Octree and accurate intersection.

The developers of Eyeshot have also added a binary file format that has read and write options for geometry, geometry+tessellation, and tessellation only, to let users choose to optimise file size or loading speed. File compression is also supported.

Still on file formats, the new version can now import IFC and IFCZIP files with all the relevant properties, containers and hierarchy structures.

Performance has been improved through moving the regeneration engine to work on a separate thread. This avoides the problem of the application user interface being blocked while regeneration is happening.

Other improvements include the ability to fill clipped objects during clipping plane edits; 3DS file import; DWG 2018 support; and a number of source code samples including RobotArm, AnimatedPicture, and PerformanceStudio.
