Opera Mobile and Mini for Android

Opera Software has released two new versions of its mobile browser for Android, Mini and Mobile.

The new version of Opera Mobile 12 supports WebGL making it easier to develop cross-platform games. Opera Mobile also comes with its own HTML5 parser, Ragnarök, so websites rendered in HTML5 should display more accurately. Camera support has also been added. The final new feature is the ability to add as many Speed Dial entries as you like. Speed Dial entries let you view all of your top websites at a glance.

Opera Mini is designed to provide compressed versions of web pages for your phone to save costs. The idea is that when you request a page, the pages are rendered in a compressed version on Opera’s servers using the company’s own proprietary server compression technology. The company says you can reduce data costs by up to 90% with this compression technology.
