The latest version of the Joomla! CMS has been released with improvements to the UX.

The new version of Joomla! Content Management System has been released. Joomla! is open source, has lots of extensions, and is one of the most popular products for creating web sites and online apps.

Many of the improvements to the new version are designed to make it easier to administer Joomla! websites, while others have been made to improve the User Experience (UX). User management is easier, and you can now view all items from all menus to make it simpler to identify and resolve menu problems.

You can now create categories on the fly, so if you need a new category while creating content for articles, contacts, newsfeeds and banners, you can do so. You also get better control of the backend administrator area to limit what different users can view.

There are a variety of new and improved features for developers. You can nest XML forms one inside another using a new Sub Form Field function. Database queries have also been improved with enhanced WHERE clauses so you can create more complex queries. Another feature that's been improved is storage of dynamic JavaScript variables.

Other improvements in the new version mean you can delete all cache entries in one click, and there's now support for reverse caching. You can use multi-language Terms of Service (ToS), and user validation has been improved.

Template management is another area that has received attention. You can edit SASS and SCSS files directly in the Joomla! Template manager; there's a new override for the Site Offline page in the default Protostar template; and developing templates is easier thanks to deeper Jlayout integration.

The CodeMirror editor has been updated, and jQuery has been updated to the latest version. You can see a full list of improvements on the 3.6 site.
