The Duke's Choice Awards, which celebrate innovation in the world of Java technology, were inaugurated in 2003, making this year's the 11th in the series.

The awards are granted to individuals, organizations and businesses for their compelling use of Java technology and it is perfectly acceptable to nominate your own company or product.

Multiple awards are made each year in several categories - but fortunately when making a nomination you are not expected to  work out which category it relates to, although you do need to supply a good deal of detail In addition to the Duke Choice Award statue, each winner will receive a full JavaOne 2013 conference pass.

Nominations close on July 22nd and voting will then commence, with the winners announced at JavaOne in San Fransisco and in Java Magazine, The Java Source Blog, and Oracle's Java Developer Newsletter.
