Microsoft has launched a new campaign to encourage devs to improve their skills using free training offered by Microsoft Virtual Academy. You have until October 15th to complete one of three courses to be eligible.
The winner of the Microsoft Backstage Pass Sweepstakes gets an expenses paid trip to Seattle to:
If this appeals then all you have to do is to build and share your Windows 10 development skills by undertaking training provided by the Microsoft Virtual Academy in conjunction with its Know It. Prove It technology. There are three courses to choose from:
Each course has multiple video lessons, each around an hour in several shorter segments, with assessment at the end of each lesson. The pre-requisite is that you need to have a Born To Learn account - which is a matter of providing an email address and some details. Then to enter the Sweepstake you go to its Entry Page, click on the challenge of your choice and add it to your Learning Plan on MVA:
When your course is complete the second and final step is to share your success via Twitter or Facebook using the hashtag #RockedIt.
The Microsoft Virtual Academy has been around for a while and seems to be a useful resource for professional developers who want to learn at their own pace without leaving their desks. These courses seem interesting enough in their own right to deserve attention, so even if you don't need the incentive of a trip to Seattle take a look at MVA and the wide range of training has on offer for free.
